Branko Drobnak is stepping down from his 10-year presidency at the Business Angels club. At the General Assembly of the clubs’ members on January 12th, the candidate Nina Dremelj was unanimously appointed to become the next Business Angels of Slovenia president.
Nina was working closely with Branko back in 2016, helping him run the club before embarking on her solo venture capital path. She was an investor in AlpVent AG and later in Alita Capital. She has many mentorship experiences and is a well-known member of the Slovenian startup community.
As the new president, Nina is bringing on a couple of fresh faces. The new clubs’ board members will be Jure Tomc and Mark Kalin, bringing along fresh energy and new international perspectives, especially their connections with China and Sweden respectively. Goran Tomšič and Branko Drobnak remain members to provide a hint of tradition from the past years. She also formed an international extended management board with members:
- Stuart Browne – Pycap Ventures
- Fan Yu – GTOG Investment
- Alexandre Massart
- Rok Habinc – STH Management
Operations of the club will also be refreshed with Marcel Hren joining the team.
Nina presented an ambitious four year plan of broad activities, ranging from mentorships to stronger venture capital investment facilitation.
Welcome Nina! The angels are excited to start working with you!
